Buying a Treadmill in Canada: Cost, Weight, Delivery and Upkeep

Updated October 2026. Prices in Canadian dollars.

Our main guide, how to choose a treadmill, covers the specs: belt size, motor, incline and cushioning. This one covers the practical side of buying in Canada: what to budget, how much a treadmill weighs, how it gets into your home, and how to keep it running.

How much does a treadmill cost in Canada?

Here's what each budget gets you, based on the treadmills we carry today.

Budget What you get Examples
Under $2,500 Home treadmills with 22 x 60 in belts, touchscreens and incline to 12% NordicTrack C 1250 ($1,999), NordicTrack C 1750 ($2,499)
$2,500 to $4,000 Bigger screens and motors, folding treadmills built for walking and running, and steep incline (up to 40% on the NordicTrack X16 and X24) Aviron Justice (from $2,749), NordicTrack C 2450 ($2,899), Aviron Victory (from $3,299), NordicTrack X16 ($3,499), TRUE Z500 ($3,999)
$4,000 to $7,000 Gym brands built for home, with longer warranties. Manual curved treadmills start here Life Fitness T3 (from $4,499), REP Strive Curved ($4,944), TRUE Performance 1000 (from $4,999), Landice L8 (from $6,249)
$7,000 and up Commercial treadmills for gyms, condos and heavy daily use Freemotion t8 ($7,999), TRUE Gravity, Life Fitness Club Series+, Technogym

What pushes the price up: a bigger motor, a wider and longer belt, more incline or decline, a larger touchscreen, a heavier frame and a longer warranty. Manual curved treadmills have no motor but still cost more than most motorized ones, because the curved slat belt is a heavier, more involved build.

Also budget for: delivery and installation if you want it, a mat to protect your floor, and a subscription (iFIT or Aviron) if you want classes on the screen.

How much does a treadmill weigh?

The home treadmills we carry weigh about 240 to 450 lb assembled. Commercial treadmills can pass 500 lb. Here's what some of ours weigh:

Treadmill Folds? Weight
Life Fitness T3 No 243 lb
TRUE Z500 No 249 lb
Aviron Justice Yes 251 lb
Life Fitness F3 Yes 264 lb
Aviron Podium Yes 284 lb
TRUE Performance 1000 No 297 lb
NordicTrack C 1750 Yes 310 lb
REP Strive Curved (manual) No 418 lb
Life Fitness Club Series+ No 434 lb
NordicTrack X24 No 445 lb
TRUE Stryker Slat (commercial) No 599 lb

Why it matters: a heavier treadmill usually feels steadier at speed, but it's harder to move once it's in place. Before you order, measure your doorways, stairs and hallway turns. The box weighs more than the treadmill: the TRUE Z500 is 249 lb assembled and 265 lb boxed. If it's going into a condo, check the elevator size and your building's delivery rules.

How a treadmill gets to your home

  • Shipping: treadmills ship by freight within 8 to 10 business days, and the carrier calls to book a delivery window.
  • Curbside: freight delivery is curbside, so have a second person ready to help bring the box in.
  • Installation: in the Greater Toronto Area, add delivery and installation and we'll set it up for you.
  • Free pickup: in Vaughan, Mississauga/Oakville or Whitby.
  • Assembly: if you set it up yourself, plan on two people and follow the manual step by step.
  • Price match: find the same treadmill for less within 30 days and we'll match it.
  • Pay over time: Affirm or Shop Pay Installments, with terms up to 36 months.

How to look after your treadmill

A treadmill that's looked after lasts for years. Your manual has the exact schedule for your model, so start there.

  • Wipe it down after each workout. Sweat corrodes metal parts and gets into the electronics.
  • Vacuum under and around it. Dust and pet hair get pulled into the motor area.
  • Check the belt. If it slips when you push off, or drifts to one side, adjust the tension and tracking the way your manual shows.
  • Lubricate when your manual says to. How often depends on the treadmill and how much you use it.
  • Plug it straight into the wall. Motorized treadmills draw a lot of power, so skip the power bar and extension cord.
  • Use a mat. It protects your floor and keeps dust out from under the deck.
  • Manual treadmills need less. No motor and no deck to lubricate, but keep the slats and the area around the bearings clean.

How many people will use it, and how?

Running is harder on a treadmill than walking, and it needs a longer belt. If several people will use it every day, or someone will run on it most days, look at the $4,000 and up range, where frames, motors and warranties are built for more use. Check the max user weight against the heaviest person who'll use it.
